How to Transfer iPhone Photos to Windows Without iCloud
You can import iPhone photos to Windows over USB without an iCloud account. Zeus is Mac-only, so Windows users should use Apple Devices and Microsoft Photos or another trustworthy local import tool.
Set up the connection
Install Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store. Connect the iPhone with a data-capable USB cable, unlock it, and accept Trust or Allow on the phone. Keep it unlocked while Windows discovers the media.
Import with Microsoft Photos
Open Microsoft Photos, choose Import, select the connected iPhone, and choose the items and destination available in your version. Start with a small batch to confirm the connection and file compatibility before importing the full library.
If some photos are missing
With iCloud Photos and Optimize Storage enabled, some full-resolution originals may not be local on the iPhone. Apple says originals must be downloaded before importing those items to a PC. Connect the phone to reliable Wi-Fi and power and allow the download to complete.
HEIC and video compatibility
Recent iPhones often capture HEIC photos and HEVC video. Windows may require relevant codecs to preview them. Apple's Most Compatible camera setting affects future captures; it does not rewrite the existing library. Preserve originals even if you also make compatible copies.
Verify before removing anything
Open files from the Windows destination and play large videos. Copy the folder to a second drive if the media is important. Only then delete corresponding iPhone items and deal with Recently Deleted.
